This exciting championship already has its first clashes defined, but who will win this year?

In the last Mineirão, the rooster did better, but this year everything could change with big teams in contention.

Firstly, the Campeonato Mineiro is the biggest state competition in Minas Gerais, where the biggest teams there face each other.

This competition officially started in 1958, and several legends of the sport have played the Mineirão.

Stars like Tostão, Ronaldo Fenômeno and Gilberto Silva have already left their mark in the Minas Gerais State Championship.

The 2023 edition will have some changes in relation to its operation, both in the group stage and in the knockout stage.

This competition will feature 12 teams divided into three groups, therefore, three groups with four teams.

Furthermore, in the first phase, the group stage, teams will only face opponents who are in other brackets.

Finally, the leading teams in each group advance, and the team with the best score that came second in the overall ranking also advances.

In other words, the leaders of groups A, B and C, and the second best placed among the three groups, advance to compete in two semi-finals.

After that, the winners face each other in the final. Both the semifinal games and the final game will take place in round-trip matches.
