What is Libertadores live?
The Libertadores da América is a South American championship that brings together teams from the following countries: Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay, Chile, Peru, Colombia, Ecuador, Bolivia and Venezuela.
How does this championship work?
In the first phase of the championship, 20 clubs participate, in three phases in a round-trip model, competing for 4 places in the competition.
In the second part of the competition, another 28 teams enter (totaling 32) and divided into 8 groups.
The teams vary each edition, although there are several who are notable figures in the competition.
Some examples are the teams Flamengo, Palmeiras, Boca Juniors and River Plate.
Thus, this is due to the fact that classification for the Libertadores da América depends on the results of other championships, such as the Brasileirão.
This year the following teams compete and represent Brazil in the competition:
- Atlético-PR;
- Atlético-MG;
- Corinthians;
- Flamengo;
- Fluminense;
- Strength;
- International;
- Palm trees.
The first phase (elimination) games start this Wednesday, February 8th. However, the championship schedule indicates these dates:
- March 22: Group stage draw;
- April 5th to June 28th: Group stage;
- July 5th: Knockout draw;
- July 19th to 26th: Round of 16;
- August 23rd to 30th: Quarterfinals;
- September 27th to October 4th: Semifinals;
- November 11th: Final.
In 2019, Flamengo was crowned champion of the Copa Libertadores da América.
However, in 2020 and 2021 the title went to Palmeiras, another Brazilian team.
