What is Gaucho live?
The Campeonato Gaúcho is a state competition that takes place between the main clubs in Rio Grande do Sul.
Gauchão, as this championship is also called, had its first official edition in 1940.
How does this championship work?
Gauchão, unlike the Campeonato Paulista and Campeonato Mineiro, does not involve a group stage, but rather a direct dispute between all 12 teams that participate.
The clubs play a round of points phase, where each team plays against all the others, that is, one match against each team.
Finally, the four teams with the highest total of points advance to the knockout stage.
At this stage, the semi-finalists will play two games, one on the first leg and one on the return, each team will play one game as home and another as visitor, finally, the team with the most goals in total advances.
This system is repeated in the final, with a home game and another away game, whoever has the highest total of goals is the champion.
