The Copa Nordeste, or as it is called, “Lampions League”, is a competition that brings together the best clubs in this region.

Clubs from the states of Ceará, Bahia and Pernambuco participate, the teams obtain a place based on criteria established by the Northeast League in conjunction with the CBF.

This competition works as follows: 16 teams participate in total, but divided into groups A and B.

Firstly, in the initial phase, the teams in group A face the teams in group B in single games, using the points system.

In other words, whoever wins gets three points, the teams that drew both get one point, and the team that loses gets no points.

After that, the four best teams from each group face each other in knockout games, so whoever wins advances to face the winner of the other match, whoever loses is out.

This logic is followed until only two teams remain, which will, however, face each other in a two-legged match, unlike the rest of the Championship.
