Who are the teams participating in the championship?
The selection of teams that participate in the Copa do Brasil is made by the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF).
Therefore, the CBF itself invites clubs from all Brazilian states to participate in the competition.
The selection is made according to several criteria, such as:
- Performance in previous competitions;
- Club structure;
- Participation in national and international competitions;
- Other factors relevant to the assessment of the CBF.
In addition, there are exclusive places for teams that stood out in the state championships.
Finally, we have the last and one of the most important criteria, which is the club's placement in the FIFA Team Ranking.
