The Champions League is the biggest club competition in Europe, where the biggest clubs from the leagues of Italy, Spain, France, England and many others compete for the big title.

The competition is organized by the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA), therefore, it defines its rules and criteria for club participation.

The best players in the world play in Europe, which is why the competition becomes so fierce.

Big stars like Messi, Neymar, Haaland and many other stars will compete to see who will win the Champions League.

How does this championship work?

The teams that participate in this competition are selected by UEFA, the classification to compete in the Champions League depends on that club's performance in its national league that year.

Firstly, the championship is separated into two parts, group stage and knockout stage.

In the first phase, teams are divided into eight groups of four teams, then these teams play each other within these groups and the two best teams move on to the knockout stage.

The games then become eliminatory, however, they take place in two parts, the first game and the return game.

In other words, a team plays at its opponent's stadium, then the opposite happens, whoever has the best goal difference between the two matches, advances.

Furthermore, if there is a tie, the teams play two 15-minute halves as extra time, if the tie persists, a penalty shootout takes place, until there is a winner.

This dynamic continues until there are only two teams in the final, which takes place in a single game, but the tiebreaker criteria remain the same.
