What is Carioca live?

The Campeonato Carioca is a competition that brings together the best clubs in the State of Rio de Janeiro.
The competition was created in 1979, and had several changes to the rules, but continues to be played today.
The competition arose from the union of the Campeonato Carioca and the Campeonato Fluminense, which were organized by two federations.
How does this championship work?
Cariocão works as follows, 12 clubs from Rio's football elite compete in a game against the other 11 teams, but in single games.
In other words, each team plays once against each opponent, whoever wins gets three points, the teams that draw get one point each, and the team that loses gets no points.
At the end of all matches, the four teams with the best score advance to the knockout stage.
Where the four best teams will face each other in two semi-finals, and then whoever wins in a final, both stages with round-trip games.

After two years, the four big clubs from RJ face each other again in the Campeonato Carioca, with Vasco back in the elite.

- Madureira x Fluminense – 01/22 at 18:00;
- Vasco da Gama x Botafogo – 01/23 at 6:30 pm.

Firstly, the biggest champion in this competition is Flamengo, isolated in the lead with 37 titles, followed by Fluminense with 32, Vasco with 24 and Botafogo with 21.
